Buying an NFT can be a little confusing if it’s your first time, so we’ve put together this walkthrough to help you through the process. If you’ve done this before, feel free to skip ahead. If you’re a beginner, we’ve added links below to provide additional information.

Creating your MetaMask wallet

You’ll need a cryptocurrency wallet to complete any NFT purchase. Just like the wallet you keep in your pocket or purse, a crypto wallet is what you’ll dip into when you need to access your funds.

To purchase an NFT on Audioburst’s marketplace, you’ll need a MetaMask wallet. Visit https://metamask.io/ and follow the instructions there to create your wallet.

If you’re using a computer, you’ll want to download the MetaMask browser extension (it’s compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Edge). For mobile devices, you can download the MetaMask app. We’ll be waiting for you here when your wallet is ready.

Connecting your MetaMask wallet to the Polygon Crypto Network

Audioburst’s NFT marketplace runs on the Polygon network, a cryptocurrency platform that offers a balance between security and flexibility of use. You’ll need to connect your MetaMask wallet to the Polygon network before you can make a purchase.

There are a couple of ways you can do this:

You could go into Metamask’s settings, find the ‘Add Network’ option and then fill in all the required fields - providing the ‘virtual address’ that every crypto network must have.

Or… you can head over to https://chainlist.org/ which is a shortcut for this step and will automatically fill in those details.

Search for ‘Polygon’ on the ChainList site, and click the ‘Connect Wallet’ button when the ‘Polygon Mainnet’ card appears as illustrated below.

After clicking ‘Connect Wallet’, the button should change to read ‘Add to Metamask’, as in the screenshot below - click that to complete the process.

Lastly, make sure ‘Polygon Mainnet’ is selected in your MetaMask wallet by using the network selection dropdown menu to choose it.
